Our kiln-dried kindling and firelighters ensure you have everything you need to start a great fire in your wood stove or open fire. Kiln drying ensures less than 20 percent moisture, which means you’ll need to use less of it to enjoy a good blaze!

Do you know how to build a good fire? We always recommend creating a small pyramid shape when you lay your fire, using smaller pieces of kindling and ensuring a good flow of air throughout. Make sure your kindling is thoroughly dry before you begin as damp kindling will only lead to frustration and smoke. You can use newspaper or another easy-to-light material at the base and when your kindling is beginning to burn, add a small log to your pyramid and give this time to catch. Stick with smaller pieces of wood to begin with and add larger pieces only when your fire or stove is burning well.

Our native timber is supplied by our own forestries across County Cork and we can supply kiln dried Oak, kiln dried Ash and kiln dried Birch as well as air-dried options. Our kiln-dried logs have a very low moisture content so they burn hotter, cleaner and for longer than standard logs. This is great news for you and it’s better for the environment, too.
