Kiln Dried Birch logs are dried to an average moisture content of under 20% – meaning they catch fire quickly and warm your home faster than the other hardwoods, making them ideal if you use your stove or fire infrequently or primarily in the evenings. Who doesn’t love a roaring fire on a winter evening? Kiln-dried birch is suitable for stoves and open fires while also having a low ash content.
A quick tip for beginners is to use the bark off the birch logs as a firelighter – simply pull the bark of birch away and use it in a similar fashion to firelighters, it will help the logs catch fire with only a small amount of kindling required. Our high-quality logs are typically 25-30cm in length.
